B.   Jenis-jenis Pekerjaan Kantor

      Tujuan pekerjaan kantor adalah untuk mengukur dan mecatat kejadian-kejadian yang dilaksanakan sehingga menjadi informasi yang berguna. Pelaksanaan pekerjaan kantor dapat dilakukan secara manual ataupun dengan bantuan mesin, sehingga dapat meningkatkan mutu pekerjaan, menghemat biaya, waktu,  dan tenaga. Jenis-jenis pekerjaan kantor dapat dibagi menjadi 6 kelompok, yaitu :

1.    Menghimpun

Yaitu kegiatan mencari dan mengusahakan tersedianya keterangan atau informasi yang belum ada atau terpecah-pecah di mana-mana, menjadi siap digunakan bila diperlukan.

2.  Mencatat

Yaitu kegiatan membubuhkan segala jenis informasi dengan berbagai macam peralatan, sehingga wujudnya siap digunakan.

3.  Mengolah

Yaitu kegiatan menyusun berbagai informasi dengan maksud menyajikannya dalam bentuk yang lebih berguna.

4.  Menggandakan

Yaitu kegiatan memperbanyak informasi dengan berbagai macam cara dan alat, sebanyak yang dibutuhkan.

5.  Menyimpan

Yaitu kegiatan meletakkan dengan berbagai cara dan alat pada tempat tertentu, sihingga lebih sistematis dan aman.

6.  Pengelompokan Pekerjaan Kantor

Merupakan tugas rutin yang berkesinambungan yang dilakukan dengan berbagai cara sesuai dengan kebutuhan.
